It's well known that Jamaica has produced some of the greatest sprinters in history. The newest name to remember is Brianna Lyston, who holds the 200m world record for girls under 13 at a miraculous 23.72 seconds.
She set the record time in 2017 at Jamaica's Boys and Girls Championships. According to The Telegraph this was the first time an under-13 athlete broke the 24 minute barrier.
Lyston boast personal bests of 11.71 for the 100 meters, 23.72 for the 200 meters and 57.83 for the 400 meters.
Lasts spring, Lyston made the Olympic Qualifying time for 200 meters.
The torch of Jamaican sprinting is a heavy one, but Lyston is already being hailed as the next great Jamaican runner to carry it.
