2021’s Chris Walker has complete confidence on the hardwood

Chris Walker is one of the best players from the Wellington, FL area in the Class of 2021.

The 6-foot-6, 187-pound Walker, who attends Wellington High School, is a dynamic player that works as a shooting guard.

No matter the opponent, every game Walker is determined to give it his all.

Walker is going all out.

The motor is always at full throttle whenever Walker steps between the lines.

“My mindset at my position is to be the best shooter on the court and also be able to dominate by getting to the rim and scoring or setting up my teammates,” Walker said.

Walker has great passion and energy whenever he’s on the court. Walker tells why he enjoys the game of basketball so much.

“I love showing other people that they are not better than me,” Walker said.

Walker has learned many valuable lessons from playing basketball that he applies to his everyday life.

“Basketball has taught me that if you focus and work hard, you can do anything you want in life,” Walker said.

Walker takes his role as one of the leaders on the team very seriously. Walker makes sure he’s a daily positive influence on his peers.

“I demonstrate being a good teammate by not showing a bad attitude on the court and always picking up my teammates no matter what,” Walker said. “The best advice I give is telling them to stay focused and play as a team for the whole game. Also letting them know that we can’t win games individually, it’s a team accomplishment.”

Walker is appreciative of having amazing male role models that are supportive.

“I’ve learned that I have to always come at everything with 110 percent effort and focus. This will get me the best results on the court. And they taught me to use that same level of focus to become a great person off the court,” Walker said. “The best advice I’ve gotten is never settle and to always strive to be more.”

Walker patterns his mentality after these standouts.

“Jayson Tatum and Kevin Durant because they are both long players like me that have a nice bag,” Walker said.

Walker lists science as his favorite subject in school.

“It interests me,” Walker said.

Walker explains his collegiate aspirations.

“I want to play at UCF because I like that it’s close to home, it’s also a good school, and it has a nice campus,” Walker said.

Walker is striving for greatness in all that he does.

“My goal on the court is to become the best player that I can become, and play professional basketball,” Walker said. “ My goal off the court is to become the best man that I can be and give back to my mom and dad for all the sacrifices they made for me.”
