2024 WR/CB Khaliq Bowen is ready to shine at NextGen's The Show 2018

This month some of the nation's top athletes will be heading down south to compete in one of the best events in youth football. This invite-only event will allow budding young talents to see how their talent stacks up against their peers.

NextGen is set to host The Show on June 22-24 in Atlanta, GA. For those unfamiliar, The Show is one of the nation’s biggest youth football events. It serves as a great showcase for some of the country’s top talents.

Among the rising stars that will be in attendance at The Show is 2024 WR/CB Khaliq Bowen.

Standing at 5'2" 105 lbs., Bowen is a tough playing Cornerback that sets the tone of his defense. He's a leader on the field who plays with an intensity that is evident on film. His instincts are stellar as he has a knack for sniffing out plays. Perhaps most impressive is his ability to set the edge and contain running plays.

His tackling ability deserves recognition as well. He uses great form when making tackles and always delivers a strong hit on his opponent.

"My favorite part of playing football is hitting competing and making plays so I can get the crowd reaction and my team hyped," Bowen said.

Bowen's skillset is not limited to one side of the ball either. He enjoys making the crowd-exciting plays on offense as well.

"The positions I play now are WR,RB,CB,S. What I enjoy about playing these positions is at WR I like making big catches to wow the crowd," Bowen said.

"When at RB I like making people miss. When I’m at DB my absolute favorite position to play I just love hitting and making interceptions I just try to be in position to make a play to help my team win," he added.

Some of his strengths on the field include his vision and his ability to make people miss in the open field.

The Columbus, Ohio native is set to compete in The Show later this month. Receiving an invitation to participate in The Show is a testament to Bowen's talent level. He feels honored to have the opportunity to compete against some of the nation's best youth athletes.

"All I can say is God is good all the time he has blessed me with a talent and I just been working hard to add to it not taking anything for granted. So with that being said I think I’ll do well against the other nations top football athletes I’m a competitor," Bowen said.

Bowen is a competitor that is consistently working on his game. He's remained dedicated to his craft and believes his game is progressing quite nicely.

"I think I’m progressing well as football player cause my dad got me in the weight room and has been training me so I can get bigger stronger faster," Bowen said.

"I’m looking to improve getting out my breaks making sure I stay sound in my stance and trying to stay square on the WR without opening my hips to soon," he added.

2022 WR/CB Khaliq Bowen is a rising young talent who is ready to show what he's got at The Show. His ability to make big plays on both sides of the ball makes him a talent to keep an eye on at The Show.

"I'm very excited to participate in The Show. It is my first time at The Show and I’m looking forward to making it the best camp experience I’ve ever had. I’m looking forward to competing and making plays," Bowen said.
