Diego Tristan is one of the best players from the Pasadena, TX area in the Class of 2026.
Tristan, who attends Deepwater Junior High, is a dynamic player that works as a point guard.

Tristan has earned plenty of recognition during his career, such as being selected MVP twice.
Tristan is humbled by the accolades.
“It was a great experience playing and being recognized for all the hard work I put in on the court,” Tristan said.
No matter the opponent, every game Tristan is determined to give it his all.
Tristan is going all out.
The motor is always at full throttle whenever Tristan steps between the lines.
“My mindset as a point guard is to move the ball around and get my teammates to score,” Tristan said. “I always beat the press especially when they try to put two bodies on me. Gets me more open players on my team. I love to be a point guard.”
Tristan has great passion and energy whenever he’s on the court. Tristan tells why he enjoys the game of basketball so much.
“What I love most about playing basketball is meeting new friends that turn into family and challenging myself to do things that I never thought I would ever do,” Tristan said.
Tristan has learned many valuable lessons from playing basketball that he applies to his everyday life.
“Playing basketball has taught me that I have to be patient and not everything will go my way,” Tristan said. “Losing or winning we are united.”
Tristan takes his role as one of the leaders on the team very seriously. Tristan makes sure he’s a daily positive influence on his peers.
“I demonstrate being a good teammate by moving the ball to my teammates so they can all score not just me. I love to see them get them shots up,” Tristan said. “The best advice I’ve given my teammates is to don’t let the other players get in their head. That’s how we lose the game. Win or lose we are brothers.”
Tristan is appreciative of having amazing male role models that are supportive.
“I’ve learned to be patient. That's the key to win the game. I take that in school and at home because being patient has helped overall in my whole life,” Tristan said. “The best advice my coach has given me is to always keep my head up and that if I lose it all my team goes down. I am everything on the team. I have to get control of my team.”
Tristan patterns his play after these standouts.
“I look up to Kyrie Irving because of his handles and his craft,” Tristan said. “Also, King James because he is unstoppable on the court.”
Tristan lists science as his favorite subject in school.
“I love to do experiments and learn about nature,” Tristan said. “The quizzes are also challenging.”
Tristan explains his collegiate aspirations.
“My dream college is UCLA because they have a good basketball program,” Tristan said.
Tristan is striving for greatness in all that he does.
“My goals are to be a good student athlete so I accomplish getting a full scholarship to college and play ball,” Tristan said. “I want to become the best there is.”
