2022’s Anthony Edwards brings a relentless motor to the court

Anthony Edwards is one of the best players from the Houston, TX area in the Class of 2022.

The 5-foot-10, 180-pound Edwards, who attends La Marque High School, is a dynamic player that works as a point guard and shooting guard.

No matter the opponent, every game Edwards is determined to give it his all.

Edwards is going all out.

The motor is always at full throttle whenever Edwards steps between the lines.

“My mindset is scoring when I need to but mostly getting my team involved and putting them in the best position,” Edwards said.

Edwards has great passion and energy whenever he’s on the court. Edwards tells why he enjoys the game of basketball so much.

“I love the energy and also experience the new competition,” Edwards said.

Edwards has learned many valuable lessons from playing basketball that he applies to his everyday life.

“I’ve learned to never give up and give 110 percent into everything you do,” Edwards said.

Edwards shares his favorite memory of playing basketball.

“My favorite memory was hitting a buzzer to win a big game,” Edwards said.

Edwards takes his role as one of the leaders on the team very seriously. Edwards makes sure he’s a daily positive influence on his peers.

“I demonstrate being a good teammate by motivating and encouraging all my teammates no matter the situation,” Edwards said. “The best advice I give is that it’s the past, so keep hoopin’.”

Edwards is appreciative of having amazing male role models that are supportive.

“I’ve learned how to never give up and also play hard from start to finish,” Edwards said. “The best advice I’ve gotten is that as soon as I get on the court, it’s my job to go hard.”

Edwards patterns his play after this standout.

“I look up to Devin Booker because he has a smooth and quiet game and I love how he scores different ways,” Edwards said.

Edwards lists English as his favorite subject in school.

“I love to read new things and learn more from different stories,” Edwards said.

Edwards explains his collegiate aspirations.

“My dream college is UCLA because it’s in California but mostly because it seems like a good school,” Edwards said.

Edwards is striving for greatness in all that he does.
