RB Trae Nickelson is one of 2022's fastest athletes

The 2022 class is a class with loads of talent at all the skill positions. One of the nation's top talents at the Running Back position is 2022 RB/WR/DB Ellie "Trae" Nickelson III.

Trae Nickelson is everything you could ask for in a young back. First and foremost, he's dedicated to the game of football. He plays hard on every down and spends his free time honing his craft. Aside from his passion for the game, Nickelson is a supreme talent.

"My favorite part about playing football is the vibe it gives me. When I’m in a game and hear the crowd cheering for me, I get in the zone and play the best I can to help my team," Nickelson said.

Standing at 5'3 115 lbs., the Charlotte, NC native is a speedy back that tears apart defenses with his ability to make them miss in the open field. Once he bursts through the hole, he's a nightmare to bring to the ground. His ability to juke and evade defenders en route to the endzone is remarkable.

He finds the second level of the defense quickly and will shake would-be tacklers out their shoes as he keeps moving down field. He's an absolute terror in the open field. His talent allows him to be effective lining up in the backfield or as a receiver.

"I play RB and Slot Receiver. The thing I love about these positions is that I can use my speed to gain an advantage for my team," Nickelson said.

"My speed and quickness are definitely my two biggest strengths. They make me pretty hard to guard. I would also say my toughness, you can’t play RB without being tough," he added.

Nickelson is one of the more talented backs from the 2022 that I've seen. His ability to breakdown the defense is impressive. His speed may be his most stellar attribute as he ran a 4.69 at Youth1's recent Y1ACT combine in Charlotte.

He finished his recent middle school season for the Piedmont Pirates with 18 touchdowns and over 2,400 yards rushing. Nickelson is progressing well and working hard day in and day out to become the best athlete he can be.

"I feel my progression is going very well. My trainer Ardy Holmes has helped with my techniques so I can try and master my game for the next level,"

"I am working on my footwork and blocking. These two things are very important aspects for my positions," he added.

RB/WR/DB Trae Nickelson III is a rising star from the 2022 class. His speed sets him apart from his competition and his ability to break a game open at any moment is remarkable.
