2021’s Delfin Castillo brings toughness and tenacity in the trenches

Delfin Castillo is one of the best players from the Orlando, FL area in the Class of 2021.

The 6-foot-5, 335-pound Castillo, who attends Saint Frances Academy, is an imposing player that works as an offensive lineman.

No matter the opponent, every game Castillo is determined to give it his all.

Castillo is going all out.

The motor is always at full throttle whenever Castillo steps between the lines.

“My mindset at my position is to move the man in front of me against his will,” Castillo said.

Castillo has great passion and energy whenever he’s on the field. Castillo tells why he enjoys the game of football so much.

“My favorite thing about playing is just the competition and taking your mind off of everything else in the world,” Castillo said.

Castillo has learned many valuable lessons from playing football that he applies to his everyday life.

“Playing taught me that I have to respect everyone in life and listen to what they have to say,” Castillo said.

Castillo shares his favorite memory of playing football.

“My favorite memory is meeting new people and competing to make myself better,” Castillo said.

Castillo takes his role as one of the leaders on the team very seriously. Castillo makes sure he’s a daily positive influence on his peers.

“You demonstrate being a good teammate by doing your job and holding each other accountable,” Castillo said. “The best advice I’ve given to a teammate is to stop having an attitude and take constructive criticism.”

Castillo is appreciative of having amazing male role models that are supportive.

“I’ve learned from my coaches that it’s not only good to be the best on the field but off,” Castillo said. “The best advice a coach has given me is to chase my dreams and always do what’s best for me when it comes to my career.”

Castillo patterns his play after these standouts.

“In the pros I love watching Taylor Lewan and Quenton Nelson cause they are the best at what they do,” Castillo said.

Castillo lists history as his favorite subject in school.

“I just find learning about the past and how we got to today very interesting,” Castillo said.

Castillo explains his collegiate aspirations.

“My dream college is the one that can help me improve as a player, person, and in the classroom,” Castillo said.

Castillo is striving for greatness in all that he does.

“My goals on the field are to progress and make it to the NFL and my goals off the field are to get a good degree,” Castillo said.
