2020 RB Blake Corum Talks Visit To Penn State

"First, I would like to thank God for the opportunity to visit Penn State, today was a good day," Blake Corum said in a statement to Youth1.com.

Fresh off an MVP performance at the NextGen Camp in Atlanta last weekend, 2020 RB Blake Corum traveled to State College, PA Wednesday to visit Penn State. Needless to say, Corum was estastic about his visit and grateful for the experience. "Every aspect of the visit was awesome," he said.

Corum was invited to visit PSU after class of 2017 receiver Cameron Sullivan-Brown, was heading to Happy Valley to receive a scholarship offer. "Thankfully the coaching staff from St. Vincent Pallotti called and asked if I would like to go experience one of their players (Sullivan-Brown) getting offered," Corum said.

Interestingly enough it should be pointed out that Corum is on record saying that it’s down to Pallotti or DeMatha on where he’ll attend high school.

"The energy of the coaches and staff was like nothing I have ever experienced before."

While Corum is only in the 8th grade, his game warrants the attention of college programs right now. Meeting players and coaches, exploring college campuses and getting a feel for programs are an important part of the process for young athletes such as Corum. These experiences will be cherished memories and provide an extra incentive for his continued hard work. "I enjoyed meeting all the coaches, especially Coach Franklin along with running back Saquon Barkley," Corum said.

"Walking out on the field and running a few routes just thinking about what it would be like playing in front of 107,000 fans."

Penn State is not the only college visit he's had as he's visited the University of Maryland as well. "This is my second college visit... these visits are making my goals seem more reachable," Corum said.

Corum has been on the Youth1 radar for the past three years and is one of the top youth football players in the country. He's also a highly ranked Elite 101 prospect. He is immensely talented with a rare combination of strength, speed, elusiveness and a strong desire to get better. In an interesting coincidence, Corum spent some time playing in the same youth program as class of 2018 running back Ricky Slade. Slade has nearly a dozen offers at this point and has visited Penn State on more than one occasion.

The future is bright for Corum, as his work ethic and preparation match his elite talent. With a visit to Penn State under his belt, it will only serve as motivation for him going forward. For now, Corum promises to keep grinding because he knows how fruitful his labor now may be one day. "I am going to continue working hard with my trainers at Elite Star Performance and Old Town Athletic Club Parisi Speed School and pray. My hard work and dedication will pay off," Corum said.

"I absolutely can see myself playing in the blue and white one day if the opportunity presents itself."
