Kasen Krueger is a 13-year old point guard from Alamo, California. The 2024 prospect tries to play like Kyrie Irving and it shows when he is on the court. Krueger is great at finishing around the rim, plays well in the post for a guard and has elite handles for someone his age.
Krueger is spending his 2019 season preparing for high school; he will be attending Monta Vista High School in Cupertino, California. So far he will be attending the MLK L.A. ACES Tournament, Jr. EYBL The Show session 3 & 4, Reno Memorial Day Tournament, Coca-Cola Championships in L.A. and multiple showcases in Vegas over the summer. This may seem like a busy schedule for a young player but Krueger has big goals in mind for his high school career.
“I would like to play four years on varsity, so I am playing the best competition, but I need to prepare myself and earn that.” Said Krueger. “ If I am the most complete player and leader I will be in a position to help my team and school win a lot of games and hopefully a few conference and state titles.”
Besides playing against the best competition Krueger is also aware of the work it takes behind the scenes to improve and reach the goals he has set for himself.
“I recently started training at the gym in the morning before school but only if I wake my parents up in time, it has to be on me to build the right habits.” Krueger Said. “So Monday through Thursday for the last two months I wake one of them up at 5:45 A.M. and we train.”
Krueger said his goal is to get at least 500 shots up per day or 2,000 a week depending on his schedule.
In his free time Krueger likes spending time with his family and friends, besides basketball his other interests are football and swimming. In the future he would ideally like to play his college ball at UCLA, Wisconsin or Kentucky.
