The Dallas Raiders Elite-Lale 12U went from outside the top five four weeks ago in the USSSA Power Rankings to the No.1 overall spot. Below we take a closer look at each of the team’s recent tournament performance and take a look back at some of their key accomplishments to date.
- Dallas Raiders Elite- Lale (pictured above): Since the last power rankings on October 12, the Dallas Raiders Elite won the DFW Fall State Championships going 5-0 and outscoring teams 52-3. Last weekend they were off to a very hot start at the DFW Fall Super NIT by defeating the Texas Stix 6-1 and Academy Select- Jordan 9-2 before the event was postponed due to weather. On the season manager Amanda Azuna has this squad at 14-2 In Class and scoring an average of over 9 runs per game.
- Five Star DeMarini Elite: This team is in the same spot as last month after having played in just one USSSA tournament in that time. DeMarini Elite finished in third place at the Halloween Monster Smash, losing a tough 12-10 game to ChandlerWorld- Bandits in the semifinals. Manager Josh Baker will have his 9-2 team back in action this weekend at the USSSA Fall Nationals. They’ll take on 12U Elite Baseball Florida and the Riverview Warriors 12U in pool play.
- Arizona Fire: The Fire are another new team to the list as they most recently won the USSSA Fall State Championships going 5-0 overall. This was their second USSSA tournament title in the fall season to go with a 13-2-1 record. Manager John Grier’s team gets it done with the bats. They average close to 9 runs per game In Class.
- Dallas Patriots- Stovall: This version of the Dallas Patriots is also new to this month’s list as their program-mates (Dallas Patriots-Sheet) were in the identical spot four weeks ago. This squad however has tested itself against some of the best competition nationwide this season. In the three USSSA events they’ve participated in, the Patriots were in 12-Major divisions meaning every game they played was in class. They faired quite well, resulting in a 12-4 record and back to back titles at the Matt Dozier Benefit and Tara Sawyer Memorial. Two weeks ago they finished as runners up to the No.1 team on this list at the DFW Fall State Championships.
- KC Siege: The Siege drop from the top spot last month to clinging onto a place four weeks later. In fairness, they only played in one USSSA tournament in that timespan and they won the event – the KC Sports Midwest Global Fall State. In fact they dominated opponents, outscoring them 25-6. The Siege sport a perfect USSSA record of 11-0.
