This month we launched Youth1’s “Best of,” to acknowledge excellence and hopefully aid parents, coaches and athletes in making sports-related decisions. Every month our staff, network of experts and readers will decide on the best of the best in equipment, training and competition.
Soccer fans, this month we looked for the best soccer tournaments in America. Our "Best of Soccer Tournaments" came from an elite group of five finalists from across America, boasting the best rosters of teams, finest fields and greatest venues for youth soccer.
The best youth soccer tournaments in America are…
This tournament has brackets in U8-U14 on the boy’s side and U9-U14 on the girl’s side. The tournament boasts some of the top teams from southern California and Arizona.
The Jefferson Cup kicks off the spring season with back-to-back weekends featuring elite boys and girls teams. In addition to top competition the Jefferson Cup prides itself in having the best grass and synthetic surfaces.
The clout of the older age groups at this tournament trickle down to the youth level and make this one of the most prestigious tournaments to win for the younger teams as well. The tournament has fielded 20-28 teams of the best U13 and U14 boys in the country including SD Surf, FC Los Angeles and of course, FC Dallas.
This tournament, hosted by the Eastern Development Program features 9v9 and 11v11 competitions for U9-U14 boy’s and girl’s teams. Every May the best teams on the east coast descent on Hammonton, New Jersey to battle it out for the prestigious EDP title, currently ranked the No. 1 tournament in the nation from GotSoccer.com.
Bethesda, Maryland is home to some of the best youth soccer teams in the country, including the Bethesda Soccer Club who hosts this tournament in November.
