Youth1 will be providing updates on some of our members during the offseason. Between camps, 7v7's, showcases, and other events, athletes are doing what they can to get better as football players and get as much exposure as possible.
Today's spotlight features Class of 2026 quarterback Tyler Waller. He is a 5-foot-10, 150-pound prospect from the state of South Carolina. Waller will be entering high school this fall. Below are his 8th-grade highlights from the 2021 season.
Here is Waller's scouting report by Youth1's Ryan Oliver:
First and foremost, Waller is a talented athlete that shines with the ball in his hands. His ability to make plays with both his arm talent and his pure athleticism is remarkable. Waller can make all the throws look easy. He can deliver a strike down field with accuracy or throw a precision pass on the move. Waller shines on design runs or when has to use his athleticism in the open field. He has breakaway speed and the ability to evade defenders while he racks up yards. Waller also makes plays as a DB, with his great instincts for the ball.
Waller definitely shines on designed run plays as Ryan mentioned in his evaluation. He's had a chance to showcase his arm during the offseason by going to different camps and playing on a travel 7v7 team.
Here are some highlights of Waller playing quarterback from Team Takeover 21 7-on-7 travel team.

Waller has also attended NextGen All America, QB Universe, and Rivals camps within the last few months along with playing 7v7. His 7v7 highlights gives us a better look at him as a passer. Granted, it's not "live" action, but he does get to showcase some of his arm-strength and his ability to make the right decisions with the football. Waller shows an ability to fit the football in tight spaces with some of his throws.
Youth1 looks forward to continuing to follow Waller as he enters his first year of high school this fall.
