Class of 2025 prospect Tyler Harrison has gotten off to an impressive start to his junior-year campaign. Harrison is a 6-foot-1, 200-pound, linebacker from the state of Georgia. He plays for Rosewell High School in Georgia and his team is currently 4-1. In five games (not counting his most-recent game on Sep. 29), Harrison has made 46 total tackles (40 solo), deflected three passes, and has recovered two fumbles according to his statistics on MaxPreps. His season-high in tackles (17) came during a loss a couple of weeks ago.
YOUTH1 QUICK EVALUATION ON TYLER HARRISON
Harrison is an inside linebacker that has the athleticism to also line up on the edge as a stand-up rusher. He has a lot of pursuit range and can make plays sideline-to-sideline. Harrison has good lateral scrape quickness to beat blockers to the spot. He makes a lot of solo tackles. Harrison has a good number of tackles for loss due to his solid pre-snap recognition and anticipation. Would like to see him drive through the runner a little bit more when he makes tackles in the run game. With that being said, he's aggressive and more than willing to come downhill and make the play.
There aren't too many pass coverage plays on his highlights but that's not his main role in the defense. He does a good job of maneuvering around traffic and quickly shedding blockers. Harrison is a sure tackler and doesn't allow runners to slip away from his grasp. Once he sees where the play is going, he darts into the gap and comes up with the tackle.
Overall, Harrison is showing what he can do in a full-time starting role. I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up with over 100 total tackles by the end of this season.
