2023 DB Ryan Adams recently received his first offer from the University of Kansas after impressing coaches at a workout in Baton Rouge back in February.
He recently took to Twitter to share the exciting news.
I'm beyond blessed to recieve my 1st D1 offer from The University of Kansas @KU_Football, thanks Coach Jackson and Coach Drake @Co_Jackson21 @BallCoachBaby @SPPFootball @coachnazoliver @KenAnioJr @I_Am_OD3 @dbkdoom24 @DemetricDWarren @BrianDohn247 @RivalsFriedman @EdOBrienCFB pic.twitter.com/tWNum8O4ZW

Adams, who has been a part of the Youth1 community since his early middle school days, is known for his sharp skillset at the DB position. With his fluid motion, ball skills and technique, Adams has worked vigorously to become one of the best defensive players in the 2023 class.
"It felt really good! I actually cried tears of joy talking to my dad! It felt amazing that a school saw my skills and talent was elite enough to offer me at a Power 5 school. It was funny being from New Jersey and getting my first offer from Kansas," Adams told Youth1.com.
"You have seen me since youth football age and all the work I've done. I still have lots of videos on my youth1 profile as proof. I’ve always taken pride in my workout and getting better each day, so getting an offer from Kansas let me know to keep trusting the process," Adams added.
It comes to no surprise to us at Youth1 that D1 programs are seeing what we've seen all along with Ryan Adams. Back in 2018, we ranked Adams #28 on our Elite101 as an 8th grader. He was also named to our Freshman450 during his Freshman year.
As previously mentioned, I've been covering Ryan since his middle school days, and even back then I knew this young man was destined for big things. His mix of talent and work ethic aren't easy to find and he had that back in 6th/7th grade.
He vows to keep working hard.
"Getting my first offer tells me not to change anything and just keep working hard. I come from St. Peter’s Prep with a long tradition of All-Americans and Division 1 football players. So, my offer is great but the tradition at Prep is a hard hat mindset. I still have two more football seasons to play and my focus is to keep working, making my technique better and help my team get wins and be a good teammate/leader," Adams said.
Earning playing time on a powerhouse like St. Peter's Prep isn't easy. Adams speaks highly of his sophomore season, and believes his performance on the field shows what he's capable of.
"I got to earn the chance to start as a Sophomore. We (St. Peter’s Prep) opened the season as the #1 team in NJ and #8 in USA. The highlight for me was going against a 3/4 Star, Stanford WR commit from West Orange in my first game holding him to 1 for 4 with 3 yards, 4 solo tackles and a pick-six," Adams said.
"We had like others had games cancelled due to COVID. We finished 4-2. I learned how to handle adversity and keep working hard. I think I had a super Sophomore Season and my tape shows it," Adams added.
Receiving his first offer is a major achievement for 2023 DB Ryan Adams, and only will serve as motivation for him to keep after it. We are excited to see his journey from here.
Check out an interview we did with Ryan last year.
