“You know, these All Star game are great,” said Bailey. “It lets me know that I am doing something right in the offseason and it’s an honor to be selected to them.”
This past August we ranked Bailey as the No.2 overall player in the country and the No.1 quarterback on the Class of 2020 Elite101. The big righty has certainly lived up to his ranking with some big numbers during this season. In only five games (missed three due to a hand injury), Bailey has put up videogame numbers with 961 yards passing and 12 touchdowns in addition to his 813 yards rushing and 16 touchdowns. Behind the play of Bailey, the Hillgrove Hawks are 8-0 on the season. To see his highlights, click here.
“[Since] the 7th grade season was over, I have had the mindset that I have one year to get ready for High School football. That’s my goal is to compete for a Job at the high school level next season.
While putting up monstrous numbers, I asked Bailey if there’s anything he wants to accomplish this year that he didn’t accomplish last year.
“Well, yeah, winning a state title is the first and just help my teammates get better.”
Speaking of high school, Bailey is off a very consistent high school program at Hillgrove High School.
“Our high school program has one of the best coaching staffs in the state. This will be our football program’s 10th season and we have only missed the playoffs once.” He continued,” Plus we play in the highest classification in the state, next year we will be in a new classification 7A. So it will be big boy football for me.”
Before getting to all the high school football hoopla, Bailey is concentrated on winning that state championship for his middle school team and is looking forward to his second FBU Youth All-American Bowl.
“You meet guys that you stay in touch with and build friendships with, which I would have never got to meet without these types of games. I’m looking forward to competing and seeing some of my friends from last year.”
