One of the up-and-coming prospects at the youth level is Class of 2027 prospect Thorne Watson out of California. Watson, who is listed at 5-foot-10, plays the quarterback position. For a 12-year old, Watson stands out on the field for both his play and as one of the bigger skill-position athletes on the field. He plays for the Sacramento Ducks youth football organization in California. Earlier this year, Watson was invited to the Catch Cover Elite All Star Tournament. He counts that as one of his most memorable achievements on the football field. Watson’s team is currently in the playoffs and he says he’s having a good time playing the game.
“My favorite thing about playing football is just being able to have fun on the field while playing football,” Watson told Youth1. I love throwing touchdowns as a quarterback.” Not only does he make plays with his arm, but Watson makes plays with his legs. “I bring a dual-threat ability to run and pass while being able to lead the offense at the same time.”
Judging from the highlights I’ve been able to watch on Watson, he’s currently a “cheat code” on the football field. He’s usually the biggest and strongest on the field and most of the time the fastest. Watson is very dangerous as a runner because he’s hard to bring down in the open field.
In his spare time, Watson likes to play video games such as 2K (basketball), Madden, GTA5, and Call of Duty. Things that normal kids his age usually do. Watson has plans on giving baseball a try in the spring. Despite being only 12-years-old, Watson has lofty goals for his future when it comes to football.
“I want to go to a great high school, then play Division I football, and eventually make it to the NFL.”
