In the football-hungry state of California, a 2018 prospect is quickly making a name for himself as one of the top incoming high school freshman to know. With a unique name to go along with his skills Amon-Ra St. Brown is RB/DB you could be hearing a lot more from in the coming years.
Hailing from Anaheim Hills, California and standing 5â8, 150 lbs., St. Brown currently attends El Rancho middle school but will be attending one of the top high school football programs in the state of California: Servite High School.
Last season Servite High School finished the season 6-6 but finished ranked 18th in the state due to their strength of schedule. Servite played a number of national powerhouses including Bishop Gorman of Nevada and De La Salle, Mater Dei and St. John Bosco of California.
Getting back to St. Brown, the promising 8th grader was a key component of the Canyon Hills Falcons, as they won the Pop Warner Division 1 Junior Midget division Orange Bowl Championship this past year. In the championship game itself St. Brown rushed for a team-high 113 yards and a touchdown in addition to an interception in the 22-16 victory.
âI scored 26 touchdowns this season and was very excited to score and help my team win the Orange Bowl,â said St. Brown.
Though only months removed from his youth career coming to an end, St. Brown is already on the radar of some major D1 programs. He notes heâs already had contact with Pac-12 programs such as USC and UCLA and says he âlike them both.â
Brown has already started a workout regimen under the direction of his father, John Brown. Now many athletes begin training with their fathers but not everybodyâs father is a former Mr. Universe Mr. World. The elder Brown was known as âThe Showmanâ and itâs easy to see why in this clip from 1985.
In addition to what heâs doing on the football field St. Brown can speak and write in French, German and English. He also currently maintains a 4.3 GPA and received a perfect 500/500 on the math section of the California Star Test.
