Making a commitment to play college football at a D1 school is a great moment in an athlete's career. Talent speaks for itself, and it's an honor and a special moment for each family when their athlete commits to play for a college.
For Class of 2020 WR Jacobi Bellazin, his special moment of making a D1 commitment is here, as he recently committed to Texas Christian University AKA TCU.
For Bellazin this is day was a long time coming, but well worth the wait.
"It feels like a dream come true," Bellazin said.
"I feel like that's where I want to go when I'm ready for the next level," he added.
Standing at 5'10, 170 lbs., Bellazin is a physical presence at the receiver position. He has outstanding size, speed and hands that make him a lethal weapon for the offense. He runs a 4.4 40-time and makes even the toughest catches look routine.
It's not surprising that Bellazin has drawn the attention of countless D1 schools, with offers from Georgia, Utah and Kansas State, to name a few. TCU, however, is where Bellazin wanted to be.
TCU wide receiver coach Rusty Burns played a significant role in the recruitment of Bellazin. "He said he was real excited to have a great player like me!" Bellazin said of Burns' recruitment.
"The coaching staff was really excited to have me."
For now the Baker, LA native is focused on working on his craft, as college is still a few years away. With a commitment to TCU in his bag, Jacobi Bellazin knows the future is bright. However, the grind never stops. "I feel like I'm becoming a smarter player on the field and learning more as a player," he said.
"I'm working on just getting better overall."
