2025 QB Luke Carney recently received his first offer from Georgia Tech. Carney, who has been a Youth1 Member since the 4th grade, has been a standout QB at every level.
Carney has been named to our Next Up Watchlist as a 7th grader, Elite101 as an 8th grader, and Freshman450 as a 9th grader.
"Georgia Tech is a special place. They have a strong football tradition and have won 4 national championships. The academics are amazing. I could definitely see myself playing there. The coaches made me feel welcome and the facilities were awesome," Carney told Youth1's Ryan Oliver.
"When Coach Weinke offered me a scholarship, it left me speechless. I didn’t know what to say. After a few seconds, the reality hit me. I knew at that moment everything I have been working for since I was a little kid paid off. It feels surreal even now because I am reassured that I am more than likely going to be playing college football. I am very grateful to Coach Weinke for believing in me and giving me such good advice" he added.
Carney has built a reputation for his playmaking ability from the QB position. He's known for his strong arm, accuracy, and leadership. He's become one of the premier QBs in the 2025 class, and it's no surprise D1 programs are beginning to take notice.

Even with this major accomplishment under his belt, Carney remains steadfast in his dedication to working his tail off.
"The response from friends, family, teammates, and coaches has been overwhelming. Even though it was one of the highest moments of my life, if not the highest, I’m still back to my regular days, lifting weights, eating right, working just as hard as I was before," Carney said.
Carney has earned every accolade and achievement that comes his way. This offer is likely the first of many.
