The 2023 class is filled with talented QBs, with quarterback being the most well represented position in Youth1's recently released Elite101 rankings. Among the impressive QBs from the 2023 class is Aliam Appler, who came in at #11 on our Elite101 rankings.
Appler is one of the most accurate youth QBs I've seen in sometime. His ability to deliver every pass with pinpoint accuracy has allowed him to become one of the nation's top youth football prospects. His combination of superb arm strength and supreme accuracy has all the makings of an elite QB that will dominate as he continues to age and progress.
Standing at 6'3" 160 lbs., Appler has the ideal size of a professional QB and he's only in the 8th grade.
Speaking on his #11 spot on Youth1's Elite101 rankings, Appler was ecstatic to find out his talent and hard work earned him a spot near the top ten.
"I was very excited to be ranked 11th! There are some very good football players my age, I met a lot of them this summer. It is a great honor to be ranked 11th against the best players in the Elite101," Appler told Youth1.com.
"I was relaxing at my house, all of a sudden my dad tells me I was ranked 11th nationally by Youth1," he added.
The Wrightsville Beach, NC native has been hard at work over the summer striving to hone his craft and improve his game. He's been all over the map grinding, competing, and even helping his peers.
"I workout everyday. I help my dad train quarterbacks from younger kids to high school football players. I love coaching the younger kids and teaching them how to be a QB! I even helped out the QB for our rival middle school. (We play them our first game)," Appler said.
His offseason grind also includes attending camps and combines, as well as working out on the daily basis.
"This offseason I went to a lot of QB camps, National Football Academies Off Season Development, Dimedroppers Dennis Gile Quarterback Academy, Dabo Swinney High School Football Camp at Clemson, Wingate Quarterback Academy, Manning Passing Academy & US National Football Team Regional Training," Appler said.
"I was selected for the USA Football - US National Football U14 Team in Canton, OH, Pro Football Hall of Fame 8th Grade All American game in Canton and the National Football Academies ‘Duel’ in Atlanta, GA," he added.
When asked was he surprised by his #11 ranking on the Elite101, Appler said both yes and no.
"Yes because like I said, there are a lot of good players and being from the coast of N.C. I didn’t expect to be noticed as much as someone from Texas, California or Florida," he said.
"No because I do work very hard everyday toward getting better, I am confident in what I can do," he added.
For 2023 QB Aliam Appler, being ranked #11 on the Elite101 serves as motivation to achieve more. He's already one of the elite QB prospects from his class, but he refuses to rest on his laurels.
"Even if I was ranked as #1 there are still opportunities to get better," Appler said.
"I have to work even harder now because expectations are higher. At the same time, I have to keep pushing myself to improve for my team, it doesn’t matter what I rank if I’m not serving my teammates. I do what I do so I can best serve them," he added.
