Every Friday our notebook will showcase a few 2018 and 2019 athletes who had strong performances in the previous calendar week. Julian Bacon, a 2018 MLB out of Georgia helped the Southside Middle School Tigers to a 6-0 victory over Lee County East in a defensive struggle. The 5â7â, 160 lbs. linebacker wrapped up 11 tackles and contributed 1.5 sacks in the victoryâ¦..Izzy Araiza, a 2018 LB/FB prospect made it happen on all three sides of the ball in his most recent game. The Arizona native helped lead his Sun Devils squad to a 12-0 victory over the Gilbert Dawgs in their first game of the season with a well-rounded performance. His contributions were felt mostly on the defensive side of the ball with five tackles, a sack, three tackles for loss and four assisted tackles. He also added a blocked punt and 10 yards rushingâ¦..The No.73 prospect in the Elite 101 for the class of 2018, Rico Dozier helped lead the McCallie School 8th grade team improve to 2-0 after defeating Dalewood Middle School 48-8 on Thursday night. Dozier racked up 205 yards on the ground, while scoring three touchdowns. He also added a two-point conversion and a fumble recovery on defense for good measure. Through two games, Dozierâs team has outscored their opponents 86-6â¦..Grier Middle School rolled to a 30-0 shutout victory in the first game of the season behind a four touchdown performance from No. 20 on the Elite 101, Dallas Danner. Danner used his 4.6 speed to leg out four touchdowns to help the Knights defeat Bessemer City on Wednesday afternoon on the road.
