This past weekend California standout Alex Ramirez competed in the 2017 Flo Kickoff Classic in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Ramirez competed in the 108-pound weight class and put on a dominating show as he captured the title by winning all five of his bouts by fall.
The California state champion won each of his first three bouts of the event by first period falls as his quickest pin came in just :32 seconds over Jack Crook in the quarterfinals. In the semi-finals Ramirez defeated Missouri state champion Kal Miller by fall in 4:06.
Ramirez was able to capture his first major championship of the season when he pinned Billy Sullivan of Legends of Gold in the championship bout in 2:57.
With his dominating performance, Ramirez was named the Most Outstanding Wrestler in the 15 and Under age group as he recorded five victories by fall in 10:28 minutes of wrestling.
