Our Youth1 Wrestler of the Week Award goes to Eli Spencer of Prodigy Wrestling Club in Ohio.
Last weekend, Spencer dominated his way to a 2017 Ohio Tournament of Champions title as he won the 80-pound championship. The one day event is the largest of its kind in the country and featured hundreds of schoolboy wrestlers from across the country.
Spencer dominated his weight class as he won his first three bouts of the event by tech-fall. In the semifinals he picked up a 4-0 decision over Sean Logue before defeating Christian Moder in the title bout 6-0.
Spencer has put together an impressive spring as he’s won four championships over the past month. He owns the 2017 OAC Elementary School and Junior High State Championships, an adidas National Championship and an Ohio TOC Title.
