(Youth1 Softball) The 2013 fastpitch season has begun and that means our regular in-season rankings are back. Each and every Friday, we're bringing you the top 25 teams across the country, that continue to make a name for themselves in tournament play. Hailing out of Olathe, Kansas, the World Series qualified girls already have a 1st place finish under their belts stemming from a championship win at the Fall Classic (6-1). The team also picked up a 1st place finish earlier in the fall at the USSSA Fall Opener (5-0), where they produced 40 runs collectively while allowing just 11 runs against them. The team picked up a 1st place finish earlier in the fall at the 6th Annual Halloween Havoc (5-1), and more recently a 2nd place finish at the 6th Annual September Shootout (5-1). The Blue Valley Mountain Lions currently sit at 9-0 on the season in USSSA play. The Pennsylvania girls have already punched their tickets to the 2013 World Series, and have a power rating of 1238. Managed by Dennis Suranofsky, the Mountain Lions have already picked up a 1st place finish at the USSSA 2012 October Fest (6-0), and a 2nd place finish at the USSSA 2012 Glow in the Park tournament (3-0). The Mountain Lions look for a successful tournament run this season.

The Debs picked up a 1st place finish at the Xtreme Benefit Tournament (5-0) earlier in the fall, and most recently a 2nd place finish at Cupids Classic I (3-1) last weekend. This World Series qualified team is 17-6 overall which includes being 4-4 vs. 18U teams and 6-1 vs. 16U teams. Manager Bryan Butler looks to lead his team to a successful season, as the team looks to use momentum gained from a 1st place victory at the FPOS Nationals (7-0) earlier in the fall, where they went on to defeat Team Iowa Force (8-0) in championship play.

Most recently, the team finished 3rd at the 2012 Snowball Classic (4-3) back in December. The Hurricanes are led by manager Jorge Rodriguez.

Scottsdale Impact comes in at No.4 after picking up a 1st place finish at Super Bowl Saturday last weekend. The team went 5-0 in tournament play, produced 41 runs collectively, and allowed just four runs against them. The team would ultimately go on to defeat LEGIT 10-0 in the finals. Impact is 22-4-2 overall thus far, and is led by manager Michael Stephenson.

With a 1,119 power rating and a bid to the 2013 World Series secured, there certainly is no stopping this powerhouse of a squad. The team, managed by Rick McCarty, finished at an impressive 103-24-3 last season, and is currently the reigning 2012 USSSA Eastern World Series Champions in the 12U division. Now having moved up to 14U ball, the Shooting Stars have high expectations for this season.
