The Indiana Middle School State Wrestling Championships took place last weekend at Center Grove High School in Greewood, IN. This year’s event saw more than 630 middle school wrestlers as they hit the mats to contend for state gold.
Leading the way was 75-pound Revin Dickman of Contenders Wrestling Club who pinned his way to state gold. He won all five of his bouts by fall which included his gold medal match where he defeated Layne Horn of Rochester Wrestling in :55 seconds.
In the 85-pound bracket it was Jake Hockaday of Tri West who won five of his six bouts by fall as he took home the top spot. He won the gold medal match when he defeated Landon Hawkins of Bulldog Prem in 2:19.
Finally it was 140-pound Hunter May of Floyd Central who also pinned his way to a state title. He won all six of his bouts by fall, five of which came in the first period. The only match that lasted longer than the first period was his title bout where he pinned Anthony Cashman of Warren Wrestling in 3:10.
