Last weekend wrestlers from Oklahoma competed in the 2018 Junior High Allstate Wrestling Championships at the Jim Norick Arena in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Leading the way was Jordan Williams who continued to show why he’s won of the top youth wrestlers in the country as he dominated the 101-pound bracket. Williams pinned his way to the finals where he took on and defeated Cooper Evans of Westmoore 12-9. Williams won his first five bouts of the event by fall with the fastest coming in just 1:44.
Tulsa National Champion Zach Blankenship of Bixby captured the 108-pound championship with a perfect 6-0 record. He won his first three matches of the event by fall and the picked up a major and back-to-back decisions. He won the title with a 7-0 shutout over Colin Dupill of Edmond Memorial.
128-pound Cade Manion of Deer Creek Wrestling who dominated his weight class. Manion won four of his six bouts by fall, another by tech-fall and his gold medal match by shutout decision 1-0. He took home the All-State Championship with a 1-0 victory over top seeded Tagen Jamison of Durant.
Finally it was Chandler Holman of Team Choctaw who posted a perfect 5-0 record as he went unscored upon in the 138-pound bracket. Holman won his first three bouts of the day by fall and then picked up a 5-0 decision in the semi’s before defeating Wyatt Hartley of Collinsville 1-0 in the title bout.
