My name is Shalom Wakuteka and I'm in the class of 2023. I really love being competitive against high skill level players because I find it very simple for me to get better and improve as a player and a person. I fell in love with basketball at the age of 3. Since then, I have been grinding to be a Division 1 Athlete and get a full-ride scholarship. My parents have gone through so much in life that I want to return the favor to them so they won’t have to pay for anything of mine. My end goal is to get drafted in the 2023 NBA Draft Combine and I am willing to sacrifice everything to get there. I am a team player. I don’t like to be selfish as a player, I actually look for my teammates when opportunities are shown. I only do what needs to be done individually in specific and necessary situations on the court. Off the court, I like to have fun with my friends/teammates. I usually spend my time during the day either watching some basketball on ESPN or actually playing basketball at a park with friends and family.
