About me
Dear Coaches:
My name is Bennett Portaro. I just finished 8th grade and am humbled by many of the awards I received this year.
Ryzer TAP ranked me #1 in the US for “Focus Speed” for 2026 QB’s. I am mentioning it because I have been told that my accuracy and ability to avoid the rush are directly tied to it.
I am currently 5'10” and the chiropractor thinks that I will end up being 6’3”, based upon the room left in my growth plates. My wingspan is 6’1” (8th grade), my hands are 8.88” (8th Grade).
I’ve been working with a private quarterback coach for 4 years who used to be the quarterback at Clemson. I have run a pro-offense with over 250 plays. My QB coaches have trained Will Grier and Sam Hartman. They have taught me the tremendous advantages of studying HUDL game video and how to identify the weaknesses of my opponents, just like Tom Brady.
My dad was raised by a Marine Corps Gunnery Sergeant and raises me the same way. I have a 3.8 grade point average and was part of the Duke TIP Program. I would like to study computer engineering. I am never late, and I am always at the front of the room with full eye contact toward the person speaking.
I work out every day and I am extremely competitive. I will work harder than anyone to be your starting QB. The fear of someone else working harder than me at QB motivates me every day.
Personally, I enjoy spending time with the Bethel Youth Group at my Church. I also like spending time with Alongside Families, which is a charity that my family started which helps homeless mothers get back on their feet. We also help them raise their children.
I promise you I am more motivated and more competitive than most athletes you will ever meet.
My message to all college football coaches:
"Choosing the right leader is really important. If you put your faith in me, I will NOT let you, your team or your school down."
Thank you for the opportunity,
Bennett Portaro
