The 2018 CP3 Rising Stars Dunk contest was headlined by two top prospects in the class of 2022.

Zion Cruz is guard from New Jersey who has been turning heads with his athleticism since he was in the 6th grade. Cruz earned the nickname “Lil Westbrook” due to his athletic ability and way he attacks the game. The 6’1 Cruz has the skills to match his explosiveness as well; he can shoot the three, finish around the rim with either hand and shows excellent decision-making at the point guard position.

Jalen Duren is a 6’8 forward from New Castle, Delaware who is known for his high-flying ability. Duren is widely considered a top 5 prospect in the class of 2022; his size, strength and athleticism make him a problem for defenders in the post. He is also a force on the defensive side of the court.

Cruz and Duren made it to the finals and threw down some dunks that would impress in a college dunk contest. Duren edged out Cruz for the win but both contestants put on a show for those in attendance.

Both of these players will definitely impact whatever high school they end up playing for.
