Cam Dineen (1998) Commits to Yale Hockey

The New Jersey Rockets are pleased to announce that U19 Elite defenseman Cam Dineen (’98 birth year/Toms River, NJ) has announced his commitment to Yale University.

After picking up top prospect Dante Palecco, Yale picked off another high-rising blue chip defenseman in Dineen – who is playing up this season and attracting a lot of attention alongside teammates Chad Krys and AJ Drobot among others.

Dineen has played in 39 games this season, picking up 21 points (3G 18A) including one game-winning goal and only has two penalty minutes.

“Yale was the perfect fir for me, both academically and hockey-wise,” Dineen said. “The coaching staff is top notch and they really focus on developing their players.”

Dineen becomes the third Rocket to commit to Yale in the last two years following in the footsteps of Ryan Hitchcock (1996/Manhasset, NY/USANTDP) and Nolan Aibel (1997/Brookville, NY/Tri-City).

“Cam has really come a long way this year,” said New Jersey Rockets Head Coach and Director of Player Development Bob Thornton. “He is such a steady presence on our blue and is a solid contributor on offense. He’s among the top 98 defensemen in the entire country and will be an impact player for the Bulldogs.”

Yale has been stepping up their recruiting game lately, trying to keep pace with local rival Quinnipiac, and league rival Harvard.
