Former Elite101 Prospect 2023 CB Ryan Adams commits to Morgan State University

Former Elite101 prospect and 2023 CB Ryan Adams recently announced his commitment to Morgan State University on his personal Twitter page.

Adams believes MSU is a place he can be comfortable and achieve his goals both on and off the football field.

"Coach Wilson (Damon) has his staff really made me feel welcomed. We had a chance to talk football and I think what I have played fits in very well with the direction of program. I have a lot of work to do to be able to compete physically while being very effective. I felt very much at home at Morgan State University as a place that I can continue to grow and develop. It’s a place that I have visited many times when I was younger. My family (My Aunt, four of my first cousins have all graduated and two of their wives). I will study Marketing and Finance at the Earl Graves School of Business," Adams told Youth1.com.

"I want to come in and really work hard and learn from the upperclassmen in the secondary room. I think my high school experience has given me opportunity to play every secondary positions at a high level. However, I want make my transition at this level with the similar success. But, that will come with putting lots of work and dedication to what the coaches are expecting," he added.

The St. Peter's Prep High School standout has earned a reputation since his youth days as a locked down DB. Us here at Youth1 have been big believers in Adams since we first saw him make big plays as a 6th grader.

The South Plainfield, NJ native was the 28th ranked prospect from the 2023 class, back in 2018 when he was an 8th grader. For those unfamiliar, the Elite101 spotlights the top 101 8th grade football athletes from around the country. Adams was also named to our Freshman450 during his 9th grade season.

"I think when I earn the confidence of the coaches and given the chance to support the team, they will see a player that will be smart, fast, controlled, discipline and above all technically sound in my position to help the team win. But until that time, I am going to work hard," Adams said.

It's always an honor when a Y1 Alum makes a D1 commitment. We love seeing our young athletes' dreams come true! Congrats to Ryan, and the Adams family.
