2024 QB Russ Osborne earns #88 spot on Youth1's Elite101 Rankings

The 2024 class is filled with talented athletes, especially at the Quarterback position. QB is one of the most well represented positions on Youth1's recently released Elite101 rankings. From dual-threat quarterbacks to traditional pocket passers, the 2024 class has some very strong QB talent.

Among the stellar QB prospects from the 2024 class is Russ Osborne, who came in at #88 on our Elite101 rankings.

"I was very excited, and felt an overwhelming sense of pride. It was a culmination of years of work. Like someone had noticed all the time and effort that had been put in over the years," Osborne said of being named to the Elite101 Rankings.

"It really means a lot. First it means, I have been recognized for my hard work. Work that has been put in with great coaches and teammates. I wouldn’t have been able to accomplish anything without those people. Next, it means I have so much more work to do. Yeah, I am 88, that means there are 87 people better than me. So, yeah, I have quite a bit of work to do," he added.

Osborne is the type of athlete that is constantly motivated to better himself. He's a hard worker that has earned every single accolade that has come his way. Being named to the Elite101 is only going to fuel his fire and motivate him to push for more.

"Most definitely," Osborne said of this achievement motivating him even more.

"As I said before, there are 87 people ranked ahead of me. Also, there are tons of great athletes that weren’t included on this list. So they are working even harder to reach their goals as well. Getting here is one thing, staying here, and even rising higher, is quite another. I have to stay grinding," he added.

Youth1 has been covering Osborne for a few years now, so it's no surprise to us that he's blossomed into one of the elite talents in the 2024 class. Standing at 5'11" 152 lbs., Osborne is a dual-threat QB with the ability to make plays with both his arm and his legs. Give him time in the pocket and he'll find his receiver with ease. If the play breaks down, he'll use his legs to make a play.

He thrives on reading the defense and finding a weakness.

"Playing with/for my teammates, for whom I consider my brothers," Osborne said of his favorite part of playing football.

"I really enjoy the chess game that football is. I like to read a defense, try to find the weakness," he added.

The Pikeville, KY native is earning his stripes with his impressive play on the football field.

Here's a look at some of his recent stats and accolades:

2019 Pike County Conference Champions
Selected to All Region Team
Passed for 1976 Yards, 26 TDs, 2 INTs
Rushed 74 times for 1015 Yards, 15 TDs

"I feel pretty good about where I am heading. I would like to keep improving my footwork and arm strength," Osborne said of his progression.

"I also need to continue to study what teams are trying to do defensively. In my position, fundamentals are so important. And, in my opinion, fundamentals are something that I will need to continue to work on and improve as long as I play the game. I just have to keep working," he added.

QB Russ Osborne is one of the rising stars from the 2024 class. Earning the #88 spot on Youth1's Elite101 Rankings is a testament to Osborne's hard work paying off.

"I feel that I have a strong sense of what a defense is trying to do. I feel that I can react quickly to what I see," Osborne said.

"I have to get much stronger, and I want to improve my leadership abilities. In addition to continuing to improve my fundamentals as a QB."
