Francis Okoro is a 2019 center/forward that recently committed to the University of Oregon. Okoro was featured on Youth1 two years ago and was still relatively new to the game of basketball at the time. He moved to the United States from Nigeria when he was 15-years old never having played the game of basketball.
Almost three years later he has committed to a division I school to play college basketball. Okoro was always a very raw athletic talent, standing at 6’10 Okoro moves well for a big man and can jump out the gym. Despite his raw athletic ability, the turn around from never playing basketball to committing to a division I school is extremely impressive.
Okoro is still raw in some aspects of the game but clearly has the work ethic and drive to get better. It will be interesting to see him grow and play ball at the highest collegiate level.
