My name is Deven Speck, and I'm a junior at Cardington-Lincoln High School located in Cardington, OH. I enjoy small town living, hunting, reading, caring for animals, and yes, I have a passion to play football. I love being with my teammates, celebrating victories, and overcoming loss all as a family. I'm known to have a quiet and laid back personality which has earned me a nickname over time pertaining to my leadership abilities. They call me the "Silent Leader." I'm very focused when preparing for game time, but my teammates and coaches joke that the team will follow me with just a nod of my head, yet without saying a word. I never noticed until they mentioned it to me. I work hard to be a good leader and mentor especially when I see younger children watching my every move. I can tell they look up to me, so I try to stop by their practices to give them some encouragement or show them a new play. The majority of the time, they want to try their hardest to tackle me which is funny. I'm also very schedule/task driven which helps me to push others to stay in the weight room in the off-season and helping them better themselves beside me. My parents taught me to always lead by example, and I do my best to follow that path.
